Soni Bhattacharya

soniSoni is a Post-Graduate in Marketing, and spend the first years of her career in various corporates in India. Till the entrepreneurship bug bit her. The initial years were spent in sales, marketing, art promotion and training & development, with large and diverse organizations across India. Then, 17 years ago, she took off on her own, and after many exciting adventures, she focused on Art-Based Learning & Development. With an aim to develop innovative solutions in the space of people development. As the Founder of The Painted Sky, Soni is the pioneer in developing innovative and experiential Art-Based Training initiatives worldwide, running programmes across Asia, Europe and India. Soni is an Executive Coach working with coachees using the ICF model, to help them develop in areas of personal and professional growth, address skill gaps and self-limiting behaviours. Soni is also a Psychotherapy practitioner of Transaction Analysis, integrating her learnings in her work, in various training initiatives she designs and runs. She is also certified in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), under Richard McHugh, Ph.D. She is also certified in Theatre of the Oppressed and in Psychodrama, and expertly weaves these powerful Theatre-Based tools in corporate trainings, for high impact and deep takeaways. Soni uses her years of communication, marketing and sales experience to run Advanced and Assertive Communication programmes for clients in India and overseas. And also specializes in Emotional Intelligence based trainings, including Difficult Dialogues, helping participants understand, appreciate and address such challenges at work and in life, develop greater abilities to handle situations that need higher EQ. Soni is a mother and a collector of Indian contemporary art. And a keen learner of Hindustani classical music. These days, her passion is her terrace garden, her beloved patch of green in Bangalore!

Anirban Bhattacharya


In his earlier life, Anirban spent two decades in various senior sales and marketing roles with diverse organizations and worked across industries and geographies.  These included stints with ITC, American Express, ICICI, Metro Cash & Carry and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Four years ago, Anirban joined The Painted Sky, and started leading the Art-Based Trainings initiatives. And now, with the company hailed as leaders in Art-Based Trainings worldwide, Anirban has run programmes across 7 countries, for over a hundred corporate clients. Over 300 Art-Based workshops, for 1500+ participants. He is the co-Founder of the joint venture with Trivioquadrivio, Italy, leaders in experiential trainings in Europe. His forte is in the areas of Thinking Creatively, Challenging Barriers, Developing Innovative Mindsets, and Developing Executive Communication and Influencing Skills. He is an Executive Coach and an experienced facilitator, leading various Art-Based behavioral programmes. Anirban has added various credentials along the way, from Theory U to Design Thinking, and is also certified in Transaction Analysis for Organisational Development, and in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), under Richard McHugh, Ph.D. Anirban is an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, a speaker in various leadership forums, an art collector and a jazz lover, and is also a keen mentor for start-ups and entrepreneurs, and is associated with various organizations providing advice on marketing and business strategy.

Smitha Rao

She has worked very closely with both HR managers and Technical unit heads / Vertical heads to develop various systems within the HR framework for both small and medium sized organizations like Tata Elxsi Ltd, Celstream Technologies Ltd and Mu Sigma. She also comes with extensive experience in conducting interviews and assisting managers in finding the right fit for specific job roles. She has led various recruitment drives conducted in-house for experienced candidates and visited various campuses to recruit fresher’s. She has visited reputed campuses like UVCE, BMS, PES, NIT-Allahabad, NIT- Warangal, Goa Institute of Management, Madhurai Engineering college to name a few. Smitha is extremely passionate about helping people develop and grow and has facilitated various programs related to this. She has over 700 hours of training experience and has run several workshops in areas of Communication, Emotional Intelligence, Creative Thinking & Problem Solving, Presentation skills, Campus to Corporate, Corporate Etiquette and HR skills. She has conducted workshops at Daimler, MBRDI, Yahoo, TCS, Brocade, Citrix, etc. Smitha is a Post Graduate in Human Resource Management from SDM-IMD, Mysore. She has done a one year diploma course in Transaction Analysis (TA) for Organizational Development and is currently practicing TA in Psychotherapy.”

Ranjini Rao


Ranjini Rao works as a Senior Facilitator at The Painted Sky, which has allowed her to pursue her continued interest in the field of Design Thinking Facilitation. She has catered to corporates in IT, BFSI, Manufacturing, Automotive, Financial Services and has conducted over fifteen workshops independently . Prior to joining The Painted Sky, she had a fulfilling and enriching career in the IT and Education Consulting Industry with over 19 years. In her last assignment, she served as a digital marketing strategist and social media evangelist with IBM Interactive experience & Mobile & several other groups in IBM where she helped strategise and execute several digital initiatives incorporating IBM Design thinking frameworks and methodologies & Customer Experience strategy for client projects. She has been a recipient of IBM’s Regional General Manager Award certificate for 5 years in a row (2005 to 2009). She has been a top performer and also a recipient of IBM’s Top Hundred Percent club achiever award in year 2007 & 2008 respectively. She had also established several best practices & innovative ways of using digital that lead to several Best practices recognition globally. Prior to IBM, she has worked with Tech Pacific India Pvt.Ltd (aka Ingram Micro) and Aptech Computer Education and holds a Bachelors Degree in Commerce and a Diploma in Systems Management from Aptech Computers. She also holds a mastership certification in the Usui Reiki & Karuna Reiki practices, and is an NLP Certified Practitioner, a Google Analytics certified professional and Social Media Certified Practitioner. During her free time she loves to paint, read books, teach kids values education and help spread spiritual knowledge.

With 16 years of experience in Training Strategy Formulation, Program design, development and delivery; Sidharth now focuses on Executive Coaching and Development- One-on-One confidential, Design Thinking, Impactful Coaching and Counseling to Senior Managers, High Performing executives, and Dynamic leaders. Sidharth is passionate about nurturing human capital and delivering effective solutions for total work force development. His work engages every aspect of human interaction. Ground research, Case studies, method and Activities are built around the central objective of the project. He continues to be a preferred Learning Partner for various clients like Ernst and Young, Adobe, Philips, Genpact, Vodafone, Symphony, Novell, Wipro Technologies, SAP Labs, Delphi Automotives and several others His regular workshops cover a gamut of skills and levels across an organization – such as Advanced Presentation skills, Achievement Motivation, Action Centered Leadership Model for Team Leaders and Team Managers, Assertiveness and Self Confidence, Communication Workshop for Leaders, Perception Management and Performance Management for Senior Managers. Deepak Srinivasa

DeepakSrinivasaA creativity enthusiast, Deepak’s number one passion in life is Innovation. A computer science engineer by qualification, he specializes in technology and product incubation. In his 17 years of IT industry experience, he has worked for groups like Technology Incubation Center, WebSphere Technology Institute and several other IBM Research groups at IBM India. With hands-on exposure to innovation, he loves applying creative and design thinking techniques to real world problems. As an IBM Master Inventor and a member of Invention Development Team at IBM, he found ample opportunities to mentor and coach aspiring inventors. Through helping engineers apply innovation techniques, he has acquired a flair for teaching what he calls ‘Innovation Engineering’. Deepak’s chosen field of specialization is Computational Creativity. Exploring how computers can be creative and writing tools to help creative professionals do better are at the core of his entrepreneurial ventures. Currently, he is engaged in corporate training & consultancy in the areas of Innovation and Design Thinking as a Senior Facilitator at The Painted Sky. And, as a founder of a company called Bitgroovy, he explores the fringes of creativity and technology.

Ritu Shukla

UntitledRitu is an extremely passionale and accomplished facilitator with proficiency in Behavioral Training, theatre based facilitation and Coaching. Ritu has comprehensive understanding of effective training strategies and approaches, and is an expert in facilitating the alignment of training to the envisioned goals. Regarded for her ability to build professional relationships that endure, she comes with a vast experience of 18+ years. Ritu is a certified NLP practitioner. She is currently pursuing the Advance Course in “Transactional Analysis”, an important tool for counseling, therapy and OB training. She has also undergone Facilitator’s training in “Theatre of the Oppressed”, a framework and set of techniques for personal and social transformation, which she applies in her work.


Stephen Brass

Slide1Stephen is a passionate trainer and an individual who thrives on contributing to the development of others around him. Academically, he is an engineer and holds a Masters in International Management from the University of Liverpool, UK. Professionally he is a Certified Kirkpatrick Practitioner, Certified in Advanced E-learning from the ATD, and holds professional memberships with ISTD & ATD. With a total work experience of 20 years, of which 15 have been in Learning & Development, Stephen has worked with renowned organisations in India like Kuoni Travel, Royal Caribbean, Aviva Insurance in his last capacity as Sales Manager handling teams and business partnerships, namely in the Bancassurance Model. Having worked as a Training Consultant in Oman, representing his company to many large organisations, such as Galfar Engineering, KCA Deutag, Intercontinental Group of Hotels, Suhail Bahwan Travels, Muscat Pharmacy Group to name a few in Oman. His last line management role, was with MB Holding Company completing his 6 plus years with the Group as Head Learning and Development working with all the group companies and assisting them with planning, designing, developing and delivering learning initiatives and projects. Steve has over 700 hours of training experience and has successfully trained in several MNCs across the world.

Monishita Bathija

She imagines, designs, and delivers bespoke problem-solving interventions, leveraging creative practices of Design Thinking, Appreciative Inquiry & Service Design; creating significant value for you and your business. Over the past 5 years, in her role as Director – Innovation Programs, Fidelity Investments, she shaped the function on two key pillars: Fostering Grassroots Innovation to create a holistic system of ideation platforms, and Innovation Techniques Consulting to design and deliver scores of real world problem-solving interventions across the enterprise. In a career spanning over 20 years, she has held various roles at Fidelity Investments, Sabre Airline Solutions, Deutsche Bank and others – leading virtual global teams in software development, quality assurance, and consulting. She is a founding member of DesignatBusiness (D@B) in India, a forum to accelerate Design Thinking approaches across large enterprises –by connecting the Design Thinking and innovation professionals, driving towards greater adoption of Design-led approaches in the industry. She is certified in Executive General Management (EGMP) from IIM-Bangalore, giving her a deeper understanding of management and leadership practices and an ability to influence leaders and outcomes. A formative role in her appreciation of Design Thinking and its merits occurred when she participated in IDEO’s Human Centered Design Challenge. A keen observer and good listener, Monishita enjoys the thrill of turning strangers to friends. This intuitive ability to connect and sense the emotions of those around her, allows her to empathise with differing perspectives and deal with conflicts.
